Backpacking around Southeast Asia for six months was the wildest, most exciting thing I’ve ever done. It was nonstop adventure – riding scooters through the mountains of northern Vietnam, partying on beaches in Thailand, getting lost (and finding the best food) in the streets of Kuala Lumpur, and meeting people from every corner of the world.
I stayed in cheap hostels, took overnight buses with strangers who became friends, and learned how to live out of a backpack. Every day felt like freedom – no real plans, just following the route to the next cool spot or hidden gem. It wasn’t always easy, but it was real, raw, and honestly the best way to grow up a little while still having the time of my life.
I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. That trip gave me a kind of freedom and excitement that’s hard to find anywhere else. There’s nothing like waking up in a new place, not knowing what the day will bring, and just going with it.
I know I’ll be back to the chaos, the calm, the people, the food, and the feeling of being completely free.

No fluff, no brochures – just practical guides built from experience.
While travelling across Southeast Asia, I spent countless hours searching for hostels, ferries, flights, gyms, restaurants, excursions – you name it. I missed out on places, overspent more than once, and realised how much time planning can eat into the experience.
That’s why I started Travel Sea Guides: simple, interactive digital travel guides built specifically for backpackers.
These aren’t polished brochures – they’re everything I wish I had before hitting the road. Every guide is packed with real recommendations, interactive links, and essential info to help you save time, money, and stress while making the most of your adventure. I’ve designed them with the same energy and freedom that makes backpacking unforgettable.
Fun, vibrant, easy to use – just like the trip should be.

The best time is generally November to March. The wet season (May–October) means fewer tourists and cheaper prices, but heavy rains can disrupt travel.
Yes, but it depends on your nationality. Many Southeast Asian countries offer visa-free entry or visas on arrival (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.), but rules vary. Always check current requirements before traveling.
Yes, absolutely. Medical care is available but can be costly for foreigners. Travel insurance protects you against accidents, theft, or trip cancellations. It’s worth it, especially if you plan activities like diving or motorbiking.
Before backpacking Southeast Asia, it’s important to check your vaccinations. Make sure you’re up to date on routine jabs like MMR, DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, polio), and Hepatitis B. Most travellers are advised to get Hepatitis A and Typhoid, as both are common and spread through food and water. Depending on your trip, Rabies (if you’ll be around animals).
Yes, it’s generally safe for travellers. The biggest concerns are petty theft, scams, and traffic accidents. Use common sense: avoid unlicensed taxis, watch your belongings, and don’t take unnecessary risks.
